Crimes in Dubai residential areas dropped by 15 percent

Following the implementation of a community policing project, crime reports in Dubai's residential areas decreased by 15% last year. 'Policeman in Your Neighbourhood' acts as a liaison between the police and the public by addressing security concerns, following up on community reports, and assisting residents. Colonel Aref Ali Bishoh, director of the General Department of Criminal Investigation's Crime Prevention Department, stated that the project handled 1,400 cases in the last two years. The effort began in 2013 and is based on a preventative model that improves services and delivers infrastructure reports to the relevant authorities. It includes activities, after-school programs, and workshops to raise awareness. Col. Bishoh stated that the initiative's team had effectively contributed to disseminating security awareness and culture among Dubai citizens and residents. BKM/ Expat Media
