The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) announced that Croatia will hire 435 Filipinos under a government-to-government (G2G) hiring scheme, offering safe employment opportunities in Europe’s growing hospitality sector. Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said the initiative is part of the Philippine government's directive to expand safe, dignified overseas jobs. “Ang mahalaga dito, malinaw ang kasunduan at parehong gobyerno ang nagbabantay. That means may proteksyon, may suporta, at siguradong may respeto sa ating mga manggagawa,” Cacdac stressed. The pilot recruitment covers 255 room attendants, 110 waiters, and 70 cooks with monthly salaries ranging from €976.99 to €1,079.24 (₱62,500 to ₱69,000 or Dh4,000 to Dh4,420). Applicants must be Filipino citizens, at least 18 years old, high school graduates, TESDA NC II-certified in relevant fields, and proficient in English. Prior work experience is not required. Interested candidates must register via the DMW portal (portal.dmw.gov.ph), then submit documents in person at the DMW Central Office in Ortigas or any regional office. Submissions through courier will not be accepted. The deadline for applications is September 24, with interviews scheduled for October 15 in Mandaluyong.
