Popular restaurateur Burak Ozdemir of Czn Burak has reportedly sued his father for fraud by selling rights to his name without his permission. The chef, which owns Czn Burak in Dubai, Qatar and Tajikistan, said that his father’s actions allowed people to open chains of his restaurant that are not a licensed franchise. In a post on Instagram, Ozdemir warned against a fake Czn Burak restaurant in Istanbul, saying, "Please don't believe any fake restaurant in Istanbul". He clarified that the popular restaurant only has branches in Dubai, Qatar and Tajikistan. The lawsuit against his father is reportedly scheduled to be heard in court in September. He is due to open his first restaurant in Istanbul on the same month. Ozdemir credits his father and grandfather as his culinary influences. His grandfather was a kunefe master and his father operated the Zeytindalı Restaurant in Sisli, Istanbul. He was 13 years old when he started working at his father’s restaurant. ICA/Expat Media
