We caught up with the beauties of Miss Philippines DXB 2023 and get candid with Miss Philippines DXB 2023 Beverly Rose Basalo, Miss Philippines DXB Tourism 2023 Princess Borazon and Miss Philippines DXB-International 2023 Nicole Osuna Dichoso.

Beverly Rose Basalo

Age: 29 Title: Miss Philippines DXB 2023 Motto in life: If you believe in yourself, you can overcome obstacles Beverly doesn’t let anything stop her, which is why even at 29, she won the coveted grand title of Miss Philippines DXB, besting younger contenders. “Beauty pageants are my passion. They shaped me into who I am now and opened a lot of doors for me,” Beverly tells Expatmedia.net. She has around 18 titles to her name, having competed in beauty pageants since 2009. When she’s not competing on stage, Beverly is busy working in sales. A gifted sales person, it was her gift of gab that helped her land a job in Dubai. “During one of my sales calls in Manila, I came across a job hiring. I didn’t plan it but I passed the interview,” she said. The job took her to Dubai where she has worked as a sales executive for a telecommunications company since 2019.

Princess Borazon

Princess Borazon Age: 24 Title: Miss Philippines DXB-Tourism 2023 Motto in life: We need to lift each other up, instead of dragging one another down Princess has joined pageants since she was 15, and being crowned Miss Philippines DXB-Tourism is her first title outside the Philippines. “This crown is not just about wearing it but promoting an advocacy, and mine is diversity that fosters inclusivity. Even if we are having differences in terms of cultures and traditions, it is our differences that unite us,” Princess tells Expatmedia.net. She arrived in Dubai last October and is happy and excited to see the emirate with a fresh pair of eyes. She works full-time as a processing advisor for a migration firm. Princess says she loves working in Dubai because it has brought her closer to her mother, who has worked here in the last 25 years.

Nicole Osuna Dichoso Age: 26 Title: Miss Philippines DXB-International 2023 Motto in life: Trust in yourself and everything will follow Nicole says pageantry has given her a platform to advocate mental health. “I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression in 2021 and since then, I started sharing my story through social media and realized that a lot of people are experiencing the same,” she reveals to Expatmedia.net. Nicole’s father is based in the UAE, so she grew up with her grandmother whose death caused her to spiral into depression. Covid-19 also compounded to her troubles when the global lockdown left the newly graduated Filipina architect jobless. “Moving to the UAE helped me overcome my anxiety and depression. It’s a new life,” she says. She found friends and landed a job at Dubai International Airport. “I found that if you focus on yourself, you can improve your life,” she says. Nicole says she is inspired by Dubai's amazing architecture and hopes to one day design her own iconic building here. ICA/Expat Media
