Music legend David Pomeranz proved once again why he remains one of the world’s most beloved balladeers after performing to sold-out crowds in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai during his two-day UAE concert tour over the weekend. The 74-year-old hitmaker opened his tour on Saturday (November 15) at The Hall, Pixoul Al Qana in Abu Dhabi, where fans filled the venue to capacity. On Sunday (November 16), Pomeranz took center stage at Boracay, Asiana Hotel in Dubai, drawing an equally packed house of Gen Zs, millennials, and longtime fans who grew up on his music. “I love you, David!” rang across the Dubai hall more than once, as the crowd sang along to classics like "Born for You" and "Got To Believe in Magic"—tracks that have become staples in Filipino homes, karaoke nights, and weddings worldwide. As Pomeranz launched into “King and Queen of Hearts,” the singer urged the audience, “Come on, dance with someone you love!” The response was instant. The space in front of the stage filled with dancing couples, while others lined the side aisles, turning the concert into a nostalgic, real-life prom night. The audience also erupted when he performed the Filipino love song “Pasko Na Sinta Ko,” praising Filipino artists such as Sharon Cuneta “for their beauty.” Despite his age, Pomeranz performed with the same warmth, finesse, and power that made him a global star. Fans called him back for multiple encores. He also chatted with the audience between songs, creating an intimate, nostalgic atmosphere. Pomeranz was joined on the trip by his family, who sat in the front row and later joined him onstage for photos. In a touching gesture, the singer welcomed every fan who wanted a photo onstage after the Dubai show. He and concert organizer ProXperts also handed Expat Media a signed certificate of appreciation. With 22 platinum and 18 gold records and over 40 million albums sold, Pomeranz remains one of the most enduring voices in global music. Filipinos, in particular, continue to cherish his songs, many of which carry stories of love, heartbreak, and personal milestones. His memoir further reveals the emotional origins behind his classics: On "If You Walked Away": “I wrote this thinking about my relationship with my ‘then’ wife… Would I still care for her if we split up?
