A Delta Air Lines passenger is in custody after he used a sharp object to injure himself and a flight attendant. The incident happened on Delta flight 2432 at the Louis Armstrong International Airport on August 3. The passenger now faces charges of aggravated battery, simple battery and disturbing the peace. Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Captain Jason Rivarde said the 39-year-old man used a sharp object to injure himself, prompting alarm among fellow passengers and the flight crew. The situation escalated further when the passenger turned his aggression towards a flight attendant, threatening her and inflicting a superficial cut. Alert and brave fellow travelers acted swiftly, subduing the assailant until law enforcement authorities could board the aircraft and take him into custody.
