Drivers face Dh1,000 fine and points for flouting new rule
DUBAI - Umm Al Quwain Police said that a fine of Dh1,000 will be given to drivers of heavy vehicles who drive on E311 and E11 roads during rush hour.
The move is part of efforts to decongest the busy highway and improve traffic safety, police said.
The ban on heavy vehicles and lorries will be enforced starting on October 1. The roads will be off limits to these vehicle types from 5:30am to 9:30am and from 4:30pm and 9:30pm.
Drivers found violating the rule will also be given four black points, aside from the fine of Dh1,000.
