DUBAI – The Dubai Crown Prince sent his second text message to residents recently, asking them to join a volunteering initiative. "Join me on www.dayfordubai.com to reinforce Dubai's position as a global city of giving and a center of tolerance and compassion," Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum said. Organisers said Sheikh Hamdan's message generated a huge interest for the initiative asking residents to dedicate at least one day of the year to volunteering work. Day of Dubai aims to make the emirate the world's most giving city. Residents can volunteer to take part in activities focused on preserving UAE heritage, such as hunting, diving, poetry and crafting. Volunteers can also share their talent and expertise in related sectors.
