The Dubai Municipality announced a new gluten-detection technology developed by the Dubai Central Laboratory (DCL). The detection system runs on the Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) technology, making DLC the first lab in UAE that detects gluten in food products. With the new and swift technology, customers can now be assured that the food products are of high quality and are accurately labelled as gluten-free. The Dubai Municipality stated in a press release that the DLC is working with the municipality in creating the latest developments that help in “achieving sustainable environmental and food resources and preserving the safety and health of community members.” KSO/Expat Media
