Dragon Mart, the world’s largest Chinese mall in Dubai, celebrated its 20th year by setting a Guinness World Record title for the world’s largest fortune cookie ever created. Made in partnership with the International Centre for Culinary Arts Dubai, the record-breaking fortune cookie weighs 2.286kg, measures 30cm in height and 58cm in length and was crafted by a team of baking and patisserie program instructors. As part of the celebrations, Dragon Mart also unveiled a monumental fortune cookie sculpture in the Main Hall. Modelled to be a larger-than-life version of the record-breaking fortune cookie, the stunning centrepiece stands 4 metres tall and 6 metres wide, serving as both a tribute to Chinese culture and a commemoration of two decades of the mall’s remarkable success in the UAE. The Chinese mall invites shoppers to participate in an exciting fortune cookie treasure hunt. Twenty fortune cookies, each filled with surprises, will be hidden across Dragon Mart, with clues shared on social media until January 8, 2025. Participants will have the chance to win exclusive products from Dragon Mart. “Setting a Guinness World Record title in such a spectacular way exemplifies our drive to deliver exceptional experiences and reinforces Dragon Mart’s position as a pioneer in the region," said Fareed Abdelrahman, Managing Director, Retail Destinations at Dubai Holding Asset Management. "What began as a hub for cultural and economic exchange has evolved into a dynamic destination that seamlessly integrates retail, entertainment, and community engagement,” Abdelrahman said. Dragon Mart opened in 2004, and now houses more than 6,000 shops across two malls. The celebrations will also feature a vibrant lineup of activities: Ribbon Dance: December 20 to 24 Chinese Fan Dance: December 20 to 24 Dragon Dance: December 20 to 24 Chinese Bag: December 20 to 24 Chinese lanterns workshop: December 23 to 28 Entertainment will run daily from December 20 to 24, with all activities scheduled between 2pm and 10pm.
