Authorities in Ras Al Khaimah responded on Monday (March 2) to debris that fell in Al Hamra Village following the successful interception of a drone by UAE air defence systems. According to the Ras Al Khaimah Government Media Office, no injuries were reported in the incident. “The relevant authorities in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah dealt this morning with an incident in the Al Hamra Village area, caused by debris falling following the successful interception of a drone by air defense systems. No injuries were reported,” the media office said in an alert. Officials urged residents to rely only on official sources for updates and to avoid circulating rumours or unverified information. The advisory follows heightened regional tensions over the weekend after Israel, backed by the US, announced it had launched what it described as a pre-emptive strike against Iran, raising fears of a wider confrontation. The National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority has also reminded the public to stay away from any debris or suspicious objects that may have fallen in parts of the country. In a statement, the authority said the UAE’s crisis response system is operating within a cohesive national framework supported by advanced operational capabilities. “We reassure everyone that the situation is currently under control. The competent authorities are closely and continuously monitoring the situation at all times and around the clock, and all necessary precautionary measures have been taken to ensure the safety of everyone,” the Authority stated. Residents were advised not to approach, touch or photograph debris to allow specialised teams to carry out safety procedures without disruption. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior urged the public to use the emergency hotline 999 strictly for emergency situations to ensure prompt response and effective assistance. The ministry called on residents to cooperate and act responsibly. Authorities across the UAE continue to monitor developments and maintain a high level of readiness as part of coordinated national safety measures.
