Dubai authorities confirmed two separate drone incidents in the Dubai Creek Harbour and Sheikh Zayed Road on Thursday (March 12) have been quickly contained. According to the Dubai Media Office, a drone fell on a building in the Dubai Creek Harbour area in the early hours of Thursday (March 12), prompting an emergency response and the evacuation of residents as a precaution. Officials said the incident was quickly contained and that all residents were safe. “The incident was fully contained, ensuring the safety of all residents, with no injuries reported,” according to the Dubai Media Office. Civil Defence teams brought a small fire in the building under control shortly after the drone impact. Residents were evacuated from the building and moved to a safer location while emergency teams secured the area. Later on Thursday, officials also reported a separate minor incident involving debris on the façade of a building on Sheikh Zayed Road. Authorities said the debris resulted from a successful aerial interception and that the situation was being handled, again with no injuries recorded. The developments come amid heightened regional tensions. On Wednesday (March 11), the UAE Ministry of Defence said the country’s air defence systems had intercepted hundreds of incoming projectiles since February 28. According to the ministry, a total of 268 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles and 1,514 drones had been intercepted since the start of Iranian attacks. The ministry said the attacks have resulted in six fatalities involving Emirati, Pakistani, Nepali and Bangladeshi nationals. Authorities also reported 131 minor to moderate injuries involving residents from multiple nationalities, including the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, among others.
