Dubai: 3 jailed for kidnapping, torturing a man who refused to join blackmailing racket

In Dubai, three Asians were sentenced to seven years in prison for kidnapping, beating up, and detaining a man in a villa. According to the Dubai Criminal Court records, the victim was tortured after refusing to join the group in their cyber-blackmailing ring. The victim used to work with the convicts at a company, but he had no idea the group was running a scam and a gambling operation. According to investigations, two months after uncovering the fraud, he told the boss that he no longer wanted to work there. At the moment, the manager stated that he could be transferred to another department inside the company, but then he found out that the crime was being run even at the firm's headquarters, so he quit the job. When he returned the next day to get his passport, he was surprised to see a gang of people attack him, put him into a car, and drive him to a villa in Nad Al Sheba in Dubai. He told authorities that he was imprisoned for several days and was tortured and subjected to electric shocks during that period. He was also beaten with a knife. The victim managed to escape when he was left alone in the villa. According to a police official involved in the investigation, they eventually discovered where the man was being detained. They then searched the villa and apprehended the suspects. The group admitted to the crime. BKM/ Expat Media
