Four Pakistani nationals have been sentenced to two years in prison each and fined a total of Dh1 million for their involvement in a kidnapping and robbery case in Dubai. The Dubai Court found the men guilty of impersonating police officers, kidnapping two Indian victims, and stealing a substantial amount of cash and valuables. The case, which dates back to March 29, unfolded within the jurisdiction of Al Rafaa Police Station. The gang’s activities were orchestrated with precision, starting with a Pakistani driver employed by the victims. The driver conspired with three other Pakistani nationals and a fugitive to carry out the crime. Court records reveal that the driver informed the gang about the victims’ movements and the large sum of cash they were carrying. On the morning of the crime, the gang followed the victims in a black Kia vehicle while they were en route to Dubai’s Gold Souk. The defendants intercepted the victims near Al Mankhool, where two members of the gang posed as police officers and coerced the victims into separate vehicles. The victims were then transported to Al Nahda, where the gang executed the robbery, stealing Dh1 million in cash, two mobile phones, and two wallets. After releasing the victims, the gang’s activities were promptly reported to the authorities. Police investigations led to the swift arrest of the accused. During the hearings, the court relied on confessions from the primary suspects, testimonies from witnesses, and detailed police reports. The court identified one of the accused as the mastermind behind the operation. Two others played pivotal roles in impersonating police officers and executing the robbery. The fifth accused, also a Pakistani national, was acquitted due to lack of evidence and corroborative testimonies supporting his claim of non-involvement. The convicted individuals will be deported after serving their prison terms. ICA/Expat Media
