An African parking attendant has been jailed in Dubai for stealing a Rolex watch from a customer’s car. The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced him to three months in jail. He will be deported after serving his jail term. The case dates back to April when an Arab man reported that his watch worth Dh200,000 had been stolen while he was in a café in Business Bay. Police issued a circular regarding the serial number of the watch, and received a tip-off that someone was trying to sell it at a store in the Gold Souq. A police patrol near the area was sent to apprehend the suspect. During interrogation, the African man said he was working as a parking attendant in the Business Bay area when he found the watch under the driver’s seat and tried to sell it. ICA/Expat Media
