Dubai: Al Nasr Club to close its drive-through PCR testing center

As fresh cases of Covid-19 continue to emerge, a drive-through PCR testing center at Dubai's Al Nasr Club has become the latest to close. The location will be closed on April 11th, according to the Dubai Health Authority. As the pandemic spread and the demand for PCRs increased, Al Nasr was one of the first testing centers to start in 2020. Services will be relocated to other PCR testing centers, according to the DHA. It is the second testing center to close permanently in a couple of weeks, following the closure of the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company's City Walk drive-through testing center. DHA-run PCR testing services at Dubai Mall, Nakheel Mall, Mirdif City Centre, Al Hamriya Port Majlis, and Al Shabab Al Ahli Club terminated in January. Infections in the UAE have declined from a peak of 3,020 new cases on January 22 to only 224 cases on Sunday (April 10), following a new year increase as the Omicron type surfaced. The UAE has been able to contain the spread of coronavirus thanks to widespread testing and one of the world's fastest vaccine campaigns.
