On the occasion of the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), all public parking areas in Dubai, except multi-level terminals, will be free of charge on Saturday, October 8, authorities confirmed to Khaleej Times. Dubai's announcement followed after Abu Dhabi authorities declared free toll and parking for the day. Sharjah has also announced free parking in most areas. Most Islamic countries celebrate the Prophet's birthday on 12 Rabi' Al-Awwal 1444, the third month of the Islamic calendar. October 8 is an official paid holiday for all public and private sector employees in the UAE. BKM/ Expat Media
