Dubai: Authorities rescue a family of six who got lost while hiking
The staff at Hatta Police Station saved a family of six that got lost while hiking in the mountains. They were lost and worn out after getting off course. According to Colonel Abdullah Rashid Al Hafeet, Deputy Director of the Hatta Police Station, they received a call from a foreign family—parents and their four children—who needed assistance after deviating from the planned route. The police quickly used drones to pinpoint their location after they were informed of their situation. Al Hafeet added that the authority is prepared to respond to emergency reports in valleys, mountains, or other places. He says many tourists travel to the Hatta region to enjoy its natural beauty, including mountains, valleys, and dams. These tourists also stop by historic villages and small businesses. He urged people to use caution, follow designated mountain hiking trails, adhere to safety procedures, and dial 999 in an emergency. To make the rescue effort easier, he continued, one should accurately describe the location in case of trouble.
