A recent video explaining the punishment for sending money with the intent to purchase and use narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances was released by the Public Prosecution in Dubai. According to Article 64/1 of Federal Decree-Law No. 30 of 2021 regarding combating narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, anyone who deposits or transfers money (either directly or through a third party) to purchase or use drugs will be punished with imprisonment or a fine of at least Dh50,000. The state Public Prosecution is currently campaigning to improve societal norms regarding the law. This educational video is a part of that effort. The campaign aims to inform the public and publish all newly enacted and amended regulations in the nation. BKM/ Expat Media
