Birth certificates and death certificates in Dubai can now be issued by private hospitals in the emirate, according to the Dubai Health Authority (DHA). Previously, only public hospitals in Dubai can issue birth certificates or death certificates. The first phase of allowing private hospitals in Dubai to issue the certificates involves HMS Mirdif Hospital and Medcare Hospital for Women and Children. Other private sector hospitals will soon be allowed to issue the certificates in the next phase of the expanded service. The DHA’s Customer Happiness Centre in Al Jaddaf also provides this service to customers. The center issues an e-certificate and a printed certificate. The Al Karama and Al Rashidiya medical fitness centres have stopped issuing birth certificates or death certificates since the service is being extended across hospitals in Dubai. By early 2023, more hospitals will provide this service once DHA reviews the procedures and processes of these hospitals, to ensure it is in line with the protocols.
