In response to rising property rental fraud cases, the Dubai Land Department (DLD) has renewed its call for residents and investors to only transact through licensed agents and platforms. The DLD cautioned against informal listings and urged the public to avoid unverified individuals on social media platforms. To help avoid scams, the DLD and real estate experts offered these tips: • Work only with agents and legal professionals certified by the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) • Verify the credentials of developers and property approvals. • Know the laws around ownership zones for foreigners. • Use official apps like Dubai REST to check property status. • Regularly review your investment strategy. Authorities continue to monitor online listings and warn the public to steer clear of offers that seem unusually attractive, as these are often scams.
