Dubai banker wins appeal in Dh157,000 fraud case

  DUBAI - A 30-year-old Emirati banker will be spending three months in jail instead of six after he won his appeal in a Dh157,000 fraud case against a bank. The Emirati had forged documents to show he completed military service in order to embezzle Dh157,000 from the bank. He was convicted of forgery and swindling in June and sentenced to six months in jail. He appealed the verdict and the Dubai Appeal Court recently ruled in his favour.
