The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai Holding have announced a Dh6 billion traffic infrastructure improvement plan aimed at reducing congestion and enhancing road safety across major communities in the emirate. The large-scale initiative will include new roads, bridges, and pedestrian pathways to improve traffic flow in Jumeirah Village Circle, Business Bay, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Production City, and International City. The infrastructure development will also extend to Dubai Islands, Jumeirah Village Triangle, Palm Gateway, Al Furjan, Jumeirah Park, Arjan, Majan, Liwan (Phase 1), Nad Al Hamar, Villanova and Serena. Plans include the construction of additional pedestrian bridges in Palm Jumeirah, new roads and underpasses in JVC, and expanded road networks in Business Bay and International City. The Dubai Urban Master Plan 2040 estimates the city’s population will reach 5.8 million by 2040, up from the current 3.8 million, making infrastructure development a priority. The new road network upgrade is expected to be completed by 2026. ICA/Expat Media
