Dubai Police’s Brave Squad in Hatta has rescued 25 people and assisted more than 200 others who found themselves trapped in mountainous terrain over the past year. Brigadier Mubarak Bin Mubarak Al Ketbi, Director of Hatta Police Station, said the squad was created under the direction of Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, to support the government’s vision of developing Hatta as a key tourist and adventure destination. The elite unit, made up of specially trained cyclists and rescue personnel, operates with 24/7 readiness in rugged terrain. Members are equipped with advanced communication tools, thermal and daytime drones, LED searchlights, and modified motorcycles and vehicles tailored for mountainous rescue operations. "The Brave Squad is trained to handle emergencies under any conditions," said Al Ketbi. "They are able to reach the most inaccessible areas using bicycles outfitted with smart technologies." Colonel Abdullah Al Hafeet, Deputy Director of Hatta Police Station, noted the extensive training the squad undergoes: “They’ve completed courses in mountain cycling, first aid, drone operation, airlifting rescue, and civil aviation basics.” First Lieutenant Mohammed Obaid Al Kaabi, the squad's commander, added that the team’s main goal is “ensuring the safety of tourists, hikers, and visitors in valleys and mountainous areas.” ICA/Expat Media
