Iconic Dubai Frame bags Guinness World Record

DUBAI – New landmark Dubai Frame has officially bagged a new world record. The Guinness World Record announced that the Dubai attraction now holds the title for being the largest building in the shape of a picture frame. The 150-metre tall Dubai Frame is considered an iconic structure that “frames” views of old and new Dubai. Dubai Frame’s rectangular design was inspired by the “golden ratio” of 1.618, which many architects and artists believe forms an ideal structural balance. Over 9,900 cubic metres of reinforced concrete, 2,000 tons of steel and 2,900 square metres of laminated glass were used in its construction. More than 15,000 square metres of gold-coloured stainless steel covers Dubai Frame, which incorporates a ring design inspired by the Expo 2020 Dubai logo. At 93-metres wide, with a sky deck, it serves as a metaphorical bridge connecting the emirate’s rich past with its present. The elevator to the sky deck carries visitors up 48 floors in 75 seconds. This Ramadan, the Dubai Frama is open from 3pm to 11pm. Tickets are Dh50 for adults and Dh20 for children. Entry is free for children under the age of three, and people of determination.
