Dubai BurJuman mall reopens: social distancing and more changes amid Covid-19 pandemic

DUBAI – The BurJuman mall in Dubai reopened to the public on Wednesday (April 29), with visitors subjected to strict precautionary measures amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Under the new rules for mall goers in Dubai, shoppers may only spend a maximum of three hours at the mall. Malls in Dubai are operating from 12pm to 10pm. Visitors are required to wear a facemask or will not be allowed entry. Social distancing was also enforced. According to BurJuman management, the mall has increased its cleaning and sterilisation routine and placed health and safety signages. Malls in Dubai were allowed to reopen on April 24 as the emirate eased movement restrictions amid the Covid-19 pandemic. But things aren’t fully back to normal yet. Malls are only open for 10 hours daily and visitors are required to undergo temperature checks. Individuals above the age of 60 and children between the age of 3 and 12 will not be allowed to enter the mall.
