Dubai: Careem bike service reaches 2.8 million rides

​​Between the program's inception in February 2020 and December 2022, the Careem BIKE service completed 2.8 million trips, according to Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Careem. The figure illustrates how common using bike services has become in Dubai. The development is in line with Dubai's plan to promote bicycle use and the emirate's push to encourage the use of ecologically friendly transportation options that help to maintain air quality. In addition, riding a bike has several advantages for community health, considering it a sporting activity and a simple, light, and affordable transit means. Cycling lanes built to the highest standards possible allow easy access to numerous locations across Dubai. The cycling lanes also enhance the demand for bicycle use and provides suitable alternatives that encourage residents and visitors to practice cycling sport and other healthy activities.
