Workshops to guide businesses on implementation of the levy

  DUBAI – The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Federal Tax Authority will be holding two workshops for businesses in relation to the implementation of VAT that will start next year. In a statement, the Dubai Chamber announced that the workshops will be held on Aug. 8 and 22 and are aimed at familiarizing "the business community with the concept of VAT, the registration and implementation process associated with the new tax, and its potential impact on the UAE's business sector" The first workshop will be held at the Dubai Chamber's office and will dwell on VAT compliance in the UAE's retail sector and steps that should be taken during the mandatory VAT registration process. The second workshop which will be for importers and exporters.
