Dubai authorities have announced temporary road closures on Friday (February 21) to accommodate the UAE Tour cycling race. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said the closures will be brief but will impact key roads across the emirate. According to an RTA post on X (formerly Twitter), the Dubai stage of the race will begin at 12:30pm and conclude at 4:30pm. Roads will be closed in intervals of 10 minutes to 15 minutes to manage traffic flow and ensure the safety of participants and spectators. The 18 affected roads are: Sheikh Zayed Road Al Naseem Street First Al Khail Street Al Jamayel Street Al Asayel Street Al Khamila Street Al Khail Street Al Fay Street Hessa Street Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street Al Qudra Road Saih Al Salam Street Tripoli Street Rebat Street Nad Al Hamar Road Ras Al Khor Road Al Meydan Road Dubai-Al Ain Road Authorities have advised motorists to plan their routes accordingly and allow extra travel time. Alternative routes will be available, and traffic patrols will be deployed to manage congestion. The UAE Tour is the region’s premier cycling event, attracting elite international cyclists. The multi-stage race covers various emirates, showcasing the country’s diverse landscapes.
