The director of a human resources consulting firm in Dubai was fined Dh400,000 for violating sponsorship rules. The penalty was imposed by Dubai's Naturalisation and Residency Court on the director for hiring seven workers who were illegally staying in the country. The director was also charged with employing workers who were not under his sponsorship. Each worker was fined Dh1,000 for working for another sponsor and illegally staying in the country. According to the Naturalisation and Residency Prosecution in Dubai, the seven workers were arrested and are set for deportation.
