Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed all five phases of the Al Shindagha Corridor Development Project on the Bur Dubai side—dramatically cutting travel time from 80 minutes to just 12. The milestone includes the inauguration of the fifth and final bridge as part of the Sheikh Rashid Road and Al Mina Street intersection upgrade, facilitating uninterrupted traffic flow in key parts of the city. According to RTA, motorists can now travel seamlessly from Al Garhoud Bridge through Infinity Bridge to Port Rashid and the Waterfront Market. The trip from Jumeirah Street to Infinity Bridge now takes just five minutes, as does the route from Infinity Bridge to Al Mina Street and onward to Al Wasl Road at the 2nd December Street intersection. Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA, said: “The corridor serves Deira and Bur Dubai, as well as several major development projects including Dubai Islands, Dubai Waterfront, Dubai Maritime City, and Port Rashid. The total population served by the project is estimated at one million.” The RTA also confirmed progress on the Al Khaleej Street Tunnel project, which will extend from the Infinity Bridge ramp in Deira to the intersection of Al Khaleej Street and Cairo Street. This infrastructure boost is expected to significantly ease congestion in the emirate and improve connectivity across vital business and residential zones.
