Dubai Customs seized 32.8 million narcotic pills hidden in a shipment in Jebel Ali. Customs inspectors said the narcotic pills were found hidden in a shipment of food and medical equipment that came from an Asian country. Meanwhile at Deira Wharfage Customs Centre, inspectors also seized 1.2 Captagon pills that were also shipped from an Asian country. In Abu Dhabi, police arrested a man who attempted to smuggle 4.5 million Captagon tablets hidden in cans of green beans. Police said the suspect planned to transport the huge haul of illicit drugs to a neighbouring Middle Eastern country.
