World's biggest billboard stands in Dubai

DUBAI - The world's biggest billboard has been officially named and it is standing in our own backyard - Dubai! The Emirates Intellectual Property Association (EIPA) on Thursday said it has received a Guinness World Records Certificate for creating the world’s largest billboard. The giant billboard was built in collaboration with Dubai Police. Created under the theme, ‘We Think like Zayed,’ the billboard was built in connection with the celebration of Sheikh Zayed’s 100th birth anniversary. The billboard, which is situated on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Road towards Sharjah and beside Silicon Oasis, is 6,000 square meters in size. The billboard features leading iconic brands from inside and outside the UAE, with the Dubai Police having one of the biggest logos on the billboard. “We are happy to celebrate Sheikh Zayed’s 100th birth anniversary with the world’s biggest billboard, which reflects the importance of celebrating this occasion in our minds and hearts, wherein we are all keen on demonstrating our determination to follow the approach of the late founding father to raise the banner of our people," said  Dr Abdul Quddoos A.R. Al Obaidli, Assistant Commander for Excellence & Pioneering, Chairman of EIPA. The UAE has received more than 150 Guinness World Records so far. “This new world record is an important milestone for the association, especially as it falls in line with the celebration of the year of Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan, which makes it a special national occasion,” said Khalid Abdullah Al Naqbi, Member of EIPA Board of Directors.
