Dubai Customs has successfully intercepted an attempt to smuggle 1.2 tonnes of psychoactive substances through the emirate’s air cargo terminal. Specialized teams used advanced security screening and data analysis to uncover the illicit shipment, preventing it from reaching the market. Sultan Bin Sulayem, DP World Group Chairman and CEO of the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation, highlighted the significance of the operation in maintaining Dubai’s security. “The UAE has made a significant global impact in fighting drug trafficking. Our advanced smart technologies and highly trained customs teams continue to prevent illegal substances from entering the country,” he said. Dubai Customs continues to work closely with international authorities to dismantle smuggling networks. Dr. Abdulla Busenad, Director General of Dubai Customs, emphasized the importance of collaboration in maintaining public safety. “This operation supports global efforts to combat organized smuggling networks. Strengthening national security is a shared responsibility that requires cooperation at all levels,” he said.
