Dubai: Dog gets stuck in a balcony, rescued in 4 hours after video goes viral

Recently, a dog was locked out on a balcony and was saved a few hours after a video of the dog’s condition became viral online. A well-wisher emailed the video of the abandoned husky to the rescue volunteers. The video was taken on a peak summer afternoon and showed the dog's feces scattered around it. “We were told security had approached the owner to no avail," Amirah William, founder of Stray Dogs Centre said. “It was then we decided to turn to social media to gain support," she added. An outpour of support followed. The social media post went viral, receiving over 6,000 views and 500 comments. After that, a volunteer from the shelter went to the house to meet the dog's owner, but nobody was there. A municipal animal protection officer was then sent to the building after the shelter made contact with the agency. Unable to get a response from the apartment owner, the volunteers called in the Dubai Police and the dog was rescued within four hours after the situation was reported. BKM/ Expat Media
