During the first six months of this year, inmates of Dubai Prison received over Dh4.4 million of financial assistance from donors and charitable organizations. The donations have helped numerous inmates settle their debts, pay for the detainees' medical treatment and repatriate those who have finished their sentences. According to Brigadier Marwan Abdul Karim Julfar, Director of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments, nearly half of the financial aid received in the first half of this year helped release 40 detainees involved in financial issues. Brig. Julfar praised the donors' generosity and emphasized the importance of their donations in improving the lives of prisoners and their families.
