Authorities in Dubai have confirmed that no one was injured after a drone-related incident sparked a small fire near the vicinity of the US Consulate on Tuesday night (March 3). According to the Dubai Media Office, “Specialised teams successfully extinguished the limited fire in the vicinity as a result of a drone targeting operation and there were no injuries.” Emergency teams responded immediately and secured the area. Officials reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of residents. Following the incident, Dubai Police and the UAE State Security Department reminded the public that photographing or filming vital and sensitive security locations, and sharing such content online, is prohibited. Authorities also warned against spreading unverified or fabricated information, stressing that such actions could compromise national security. The emphasis on public safety comes as the UAE continues to respond to heightened regional tensions. Authorities stressed that security systems are fully operational and that protective measures remain active around the clock. Earlier on Tuesday, during a government media briefing, the Ministry of Defence said UAE air defence systems have intercepted the vast majority of missiles and drones launched toward the country since February 28. Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, said the UAE maintains its right to self-defence while remaining committed to de-escalation. “We do not seek to widen the conflict,” she said, reiterating that military solutions do not lead to stable outcomes. Ministry of Defence spokesman Brig. Staff Pilot Abdulnasir Al Hammad added that the Armed Forces remain fully prepared and have sufficient strategic stockpiles to sustain defensive operations for extended periods. Al Hammad said that since Iranian attacks on the UAE began on February 28, the country has detected 186 ballistic missiles and 812 drones, of which 172 missiles were destroyed, 13 fell into the sea, and one landed within UAE territory. Eight cruise missiles were also detected and destroyed. Of the drones detected, 755 were intercepted, while 57 fell within the country.
