Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) is undergoing a monumental transformation with a Dh10 billion expansion project, approved by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Situated in Expo City Dubai, the expanded DEC will become the Middle East’s largest indoor events venue, further cementing Dubai’s status as a global hub for business and mega-events.

New era of mega events

By 2033, DEC aims to double its annual events from 300 to over 600, contributing Dh54 billion to Dubai’s economy. Phase 1 of the expansion, slated for completion by 2026, will include 64,000 sqm of permanent halls and 30,000sqm temporary event halls. Mahir Julfar of DWTC remarked, “This expansion will redefine global events, making Dubai the ultimate destination for world-class exhibitions and conferences.” Part of Dubai’s urban master plan, DEC will integrate with Expo City Dubai, Al Maktoum International Airport, and the surrounding community, creating a 15-minute city model.
