The UAE’s longest network of mountain trails has just been expanded with the recent addition of 38 new mountain trails in Hatta. According to Dubai Municipality, hikers and cyclists will be able to explore Hatta further with construction of the new mountain trails now completed. The trails include a network of cycling paths and walking tracks measuring a total of 86km. There are 21 cycling routes, 17 walking trails, 9 wooden bridges and 14 rest stops. The cycling routes span 53km while the walking trails extend 33km. According to the Dubai Municipality, the trails have also been colour-coded into four areas depending on the level of difficulty for navigation, starting with the easiest trails coded green, moving up to blue, red, and black. The municipality said that 176 sign posts and 650 tracks have also been installed to help guide cyclists and hikers along the trails. “Our ambition is to implement initiatives that serve the Hatta area, establishing it as a leading tourist destination for residents and tourists,” said Dawoud Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality.
