Dubai expat lands in jail for setting fire to villa entrance
An expatriate in Dubai has been jailed after setting fire to the entrance of a villa. The Dubai Court of Appeal upheld a Dubai Criminal Court verdict, sentencing the GCC national to three months in jail. He was also fined Dh13,000. The case dates back to August 2022 in Dubai’s Zabeel area when police arrested the GCC national after he set fire to the villa’s entrance. He was arrested at the scene of the crime. The man claimed he wanted to set the villa on fire because he was bewitched by a woman living there. He claimed that the woman practiced witchcraft.
