Mrs. Universe Philippines Vevherly Gador.

Newly crowned Mrs. Universe Philippines 2024 Vevherly Gador is looking forward to representing the Philippines in the international Mrs. Universe 2024 pageant in South Korea this October. Gador bested 11 candidates to win the Mrs. Universe Philippines 2024 crown last Saturday at Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati City, Philippines. The 36-year-old single mother said the 9-hour trip from Dubai to the Philippines was worth it after she bagged to coveted title. She also won Best in Evening Gown, Mrs. Photogenic and People’s Choice. “The competition was really tough because all of us were equally great performers in our respective aspects, so I was just praying hard when it was only me and Mrs. Pangasinan left standing,” Gador told Expat Media on her return to Dubai on Monday (September 2), a day after her birthday. “Wearing this Mrs. Universe Philippines 2024 crown gives me chills and goosebumps because I honestly still could not believe that my dream of representing the Philippines will come true at this age, because pageants have traditionally been for single, young women. Now, as a mother at the age of 35, I made it!” said Gador, who proudly adds that she has singlehandedly raised her daughter in the last 13 years. “I am grateful to the Mrs. Universe Philippines Foundation CEO and Mrs. Universe Philippines Middle East CEO for making this dream come true,” she added. Gador, a farmer’s daughter from Cebu, first rose to fame after bagging a spot in the inaugural Survivor Philippines reality competition in 2008. After a brief stint in the entertainment industry, Gador pursued other opportunities, including working as civil aviation security inspector at Manila International Airport. In Dubai, Gador is working on launching her business in event management as well as some modeling gigs. She recently appeared with influencer and Shah Rukh Khan lookalike Durgesh Goyal in a commercial video produced by Expat Media Solutions. The feisty Filipina said she is looking forward to her next exciting challenge in South Korea. “I will be competing internationally and representing our dear Philippines, with around 100 candidates joining me from different countries. It will be tough, I am sure, but I hope and pray that I will be able to bring home the crown,” Gador said. PIA/Expat Media
