Fare evasion is punishable with a fine of Dh200. RTA

A total of 1,193 public transport violators were caught in Dubai in just six days as part of a major crackdown, according to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The RTA said it came after the authority conducted 40,000 inspections in public transport and parking facilities in the city. Violations included non-payment of fares and parking fees. Saeed Al Balushi, Director of Passenger Transport Activities Monitoring at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, said that more inspection campaigns will be conducted throughout the year.
