Dubai’s iconic Dubai Fountain, the world’s largest performing fountain, will temporarily close for five months starting in May for a comprehensive upgrade and routine maintenance, developer Emaar has announced. The renovation project aims to enhance the fountain’s breathtaking performances, ensuring it remains one of the most celebrated attractions in the world. The scheduled improvements will introduce advanced technology, upgraded choreography, and an enhanced sound and lighting system to elevate the immersive experience for visitors. “For years, the Dubai Fountain has been the heartbeat of Downtown Dubai, captivating millions of visitors with its synchronized water, music, and light performances,” according to Emaar. “As a symbol of celebration and artistry, it has created unforgettable moments that have been applauded by audiences from all over the world.” Mohamed Alabbar, Founder of Emaar, emphasized the cultural and artistic significance of the fountain. “Dubai Fountain is more than a spectacle—it is a reflection of Dubai’s soul, where art, innovation, and emotion come together in perfect harmony. As we elevate this iconic landmark, we continue to create experiences that connect people, inspire wonder, and stand the test of time,” he said. While the fountain is temporarily out of operation, visitors can still enjoy the vibrant attractions of Downtown Dubai, including world-class shopping and dining experiences at Dubai Mall, as well as the breathtaking views of the Burj Khalifa. Emaar has assured visitors that the closure is essential to preserving the fountain’s iconic status. The enhancements will not only improve the performance quality but also ensure the longevity of the attraction, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global hub for entertainment and tourism. Upon its return, the Dubai Fountain is expected to deliver even more mesmerizing shows, further solidifying its reputation as a must-visit destination for tourists and residents alike.
