The world-famous Dubai Fountain is set to make a comeback on October 1 following its closure in April for large-scale renovation works, according to a report. Located at The Dubai Mall, the fountain has been undergoing major upgrades since its final show on April 19. Developer Emaar said that the reopening follows a five-month work for upgrades. The first show will start at 6:30pm on October 1. Among the key improvements are: • A stronger water-resistant base with added waterproofing layers. • A new insulation system to enhance water retention. • The installation of blue tiles to enrich the visual effect of the water shows. Since its debut on May 8, 2009, the Dubai Fountain has dazzled millions of visitors with choreographed shows combining music, lights, and powerful water jets. Covering an area equal to 18 football fields, it is powered by cutting-edge robotic arms and synchronized lighting systems. Its much-anticipated reopening is expected to once again draw thousands of spectators daily to one of Dubai’s most iconic landmarks. ICA/Expat Media
