The Dubai Metro will run non-stop for 40 hours starting at 8am on December 31, while public bus rides will be free as part of New Year’s Eve plans in Dubai. According to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai Metro services will continue for a full 24 hours on January 1, while the Dubai Tram will run from 9am on December 31 until 1am on January 2.

The Burj Khalifa Dubai Mall Metro Station will be closed at 5pm on December 31 or as soon as the station exceeds capacity. Commuters are advised to use the nearest Metro stations Business Bay, Financial Centre, Emirates Towers, or World Trade Centre to reach the celebrations venue. Metro users must ensure that their Nol card balance has a minimum of Dh15 for a round trip.

The RTA will deploy 230 public buses that commuters can use free of charge for New Year’s Eve, according to Abdullah Yousif Al Ali, CEO of RTA. Regular taxi services will continue to operate during the New Year's Eve period. Meanwhile, Sheikh Zayed Road will be closed to traffic from 9pm onwards on December 31, while roads around Downtown Dubai and popular locations will start closing at 4pm, according to Dubai Police. Motorists can find additional parking spaces in Al Wasl and Al Jafiliya where the RTA has arranged for 900 parking spaces for those who want to watch the New Year's Eve festivities. Authorities have announced that Dubai will have a total of 32 firework displays in various locations, including Hatta.
