Dubai: Free food distribution during Ramadan must have approval
DUBAI – Individuals who want to distribute free food during Ramadan must have permission from authorities, an official said on Tuesday (March 2). Muhammad Musabeh Dahi, of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD), said meal donations must be done through licensed charities. Dahi said those who want to distribute free meals during Ramadan must contact associations and charities licensed by IACAD. Meanwhile, the authority announced that there will be no Ramadan tents in Dubai this year as part of safety measures against Covid-19. According to IACAD, all permits for Ramadan tents have been cancelled.
