As part of the transformative Dubai Walk Master Plan, the Museum of the Future area is set to become a hub for pedestrians, with the construction of the state-of-the-art Future Loop. This elevated 2-kilometer walkway around Emirates Towers and near the Museum of the Future will offer a futuristic pedestrian experience while enhancing connectivity among ten key attractions in the vicinity. Announced by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Saturday (December 7), the project reflects Dubai’s broader vision to redefine mobility and promote a pedestrian-friendly lifestyle. With widths ranging from 6 meters to 15 meters, the Future Loop will also include a 30,000-square-meter air-conditioned level for year-round accessibility, alongside shaded green spaces. In addition to the Future Loop, the Dubai Walk Master Plan encompasses the Al Ras Historical Route, which spans 15 kilometers and connects Dubai’s heritage landmarks with modern urban landscapes. The overall plan aims to establish a 6,500-kilometer network of pedestrian pathways, covering scenic waterfronts, mountainous trails, and urban promenades. The phased rollout begins with a pilot from 2025 to 2027, followed by a full implementation by 2040. The initiative also prioritizes safety and connectivity, introducing 110 pedestrian bridges and tunnels to accommodate the increasing number of walkers. Urban mobility is a key focus, with Sheikh Mohammed envisioning a city where walking, cycling, and public transportation become integral to daily life.
