Six men — including a Gulf national and five Asians — have been sentenced to three years in prison and fined Dh1,422,000 for impersonating police officers and robbing a Dubai trading company of more than Dh1.7 million in cash and property. The Dubai Court of Appeal and the Court of Cassation upheld the original ruling from the Court of First Instance, ordering the deportation of the Asian defendants following the completion of their prison terms. According to court documents, the gang carried out the robbery by posing as officers from Dubai’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID). One member dressed in traditional Emirati attire and flashed a military ID before quickly hiding it. Three other men entered shortly after, claiming they were conducting an investigation. The company owner testified that the accused physically assaulted him and restrained both him and an employee. The gang then stole Dh500,000 from the office safe and removed the storage unit containing surveillance footage. Another employee carrying Dh1.2 million in cash was also assaulted before the gang fled the scene. The court deemed the evidence — including testimonies and surveillance analysis — sufficient to convict all six men. ICA/Expat Media
