DUBAI – The Dubai Government is granting golden visas and bonuses to imams, preachers and muezzins who have served for 20 years. This follows a recent directive by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. An imam leads prayers in a mosque, while a muezzin calls Muslims to prayer from the minaret. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, thanked imams, preachers and muezzins for their service. Sheikh Hamdan called on them to “continue giving in order to familiarize the community with the true religion and spread what it calls for lofty values” that contribute to society.
