The Dubai Customs helped Japanese authorities nab a 700kg shipment of methamphetamine valued at $310 million. The seizure is the second largest drug bust ever made in Japan, authorities said. Dubai Customs officials said its officers used AI to help track and detect the illegal shipment. Customs officials said the drugs were hidden in a cargo ship from an Asian country and bound for Japan. The ship and the drugs were apprehended at Tokyo Port. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director-General of Dubai Customs and the CEO of the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation, said Dubai’s collaboration with customs authorities worldwide has helped in the global fight against illegal drugs.
